Justin Bieber was discovered when he was fourteen years old by Scooter Braun, who happened to come across his videos on YouTube and later became his manager. The talented teenager was an overnight success, having gone from an unknown, untrained singer to a superstar with a big-time record deal, in just two years.

Because Justin is left-handed, I have based most of my analysis on his left (active) hand, the expressed part of his personality, and on his palm and finger shape since I was unable to see his lines.

The closest look I could take at his lines was on his right hand, i.e. what lies deep inside. The obvious Sun line that he has there, under his ring finger, shows his personal magnetism and sense of success. I assume this line is also present on his active hand because he is definitely in touch with his heart and able to connect with others. And there is not doubt he is a successful individual!

His thumb is interesting. The sharp angle at the outside base of the thumb (protruding bone) shows his sense of rhythm. He would be attracted to any occupation where a sense of timing is required such as sports, music, dance, etc. The thumb is also relatively long compared to the rest of the hand: it indicates Justin has a lot of will and drive. People with this kind of thumb develop a high degree of skill and specialty through application and persistence. Apparently, Justin taught himself to play guitar!

His ring finger is particularly long - especially compared to his relatively short index finger - but it is often bent. The long finger is often excellent at working a crowd and has apparent boundless public confidence. However, the fact that it is sometimes bent shows moments of insecurity. Justin still have difficulty believing in his success.

His prominent knuckles indicate a very analytical temperament. He likes to analyze things and to think before acting. He is methodical on the physical domain but his communication is spontaneous.

When I first looked at Justin's hand, and especially his fingers, I didn't know anything about his past, and assumed he had a cushy childhood. I was therefore surprised to see that his hands revealed a difficult infancy. For instance, his baby finger is not straight and looks a bit like an "S". This denotes a child who was denied some sensory attention from his mother. Maybe, as a baby, he was not held or touched as much as would have been necessary.

I then read that his mother Pattie raised Justin as a single mother in low-income housing, while she worked a series of low-paying office jobs. In an interview, he was quoted saying: "My mom wasn’t the greatest person. I mean, she was a good person, but she made mistakes. She drank. She probably did drugs and stuff." He then added: "The fact is, she changed her life around because of me. When I was born she quit smoking, she quit drinking. She did that all for me”. Pattie probably couldn't affort to spend too much time with her baby, when there were more urgent basic survivle needs. But this left a mark on her son's hands.

Another characteristic is the very narrow base of Justin's fingers, in particular the middle and the ring finger. Young Justin learned to remove the emotional content of his ideas by rationalizing his thoughts. I noticed on Twitter that he jokes a lot and makes fun of what could be considered traumatic events. For instance, after injuring himself during a show, he wrote on Tweeter: “Busted my knee last night in the middle of the show. Not fun. Finished the show with a sweet limp.” The light tone is a rationalization, a way to remove himself from the physical and emotional pain. He probably learned this technique early in his life, when life was not as much fun as now!

So, based on his hands, the phenomenal Justin Bieber is a regular, fun-loving, sensitive boy, with a few issues he will have to work out... just like everyone of us!
